Specialist Service ยท India to Australia
A hand-carved marble mandir from Jaipur. A teakwood temple commissioned for your family. These are not shipments. They are vessels of devotion. We build the protection around them.
Tell Us About Your MandirThe Protection System
This is not standard bubble-wrap-and-hope. We developed a seven-layer packing system specifically for sacred and irreplaceable items โ each layer serving a distinct purpose.
The first thing to touch your mandir is always cloth โ never foam, never tape, never bare hands without gloves. We use clean, soft cotton muslin to protect any painted, gilded, or polished surfaces from the friction of everything that follows.
Marble and stone are porous. Conventional packaging can transfer acids, stains, or residue over a 20-day ocean journey. Every surface is wrapped in archival-grade, acid-free tissue before any other material touches it.
Multiple centimetres of high-density polyethylene foam surround the entire piece, providing a resilient cushion against vibration, shifting, and impact throughout the ocean crossing.
For mandirs and sculptures, we commission a foam cradle cut to the precise contours of your item. The piece sits in a form that matches its exact shape โ zero movement, zero stress on protruding features like spires, columns, or carved figures.
A close-fitting timber inner crate holds the foam-cradle assembly. It transfers any external load away from the item entirely, so that even if something is stacked on top, the piece feels nothing.
An ocean container experiences humidity fluctuations, condensation, and temperature changes across thousands of kilometres. The entire inner crate is sealed inside a heavy-duty moisture barrier before final crating.
The outer crate is engineered timber โ reinforced corners, metal banding, and clearly marked Fragile / This Side Up / Do Not Stack. Every handling instruction is printed in English and Hindi. This crate is what the world sees. What's inside is protected seven times over.
Our Commitment
We have shipped mandirs, marble sculptures, and family heirlooms across 5,800 nautical miles of ocean. Not one has arrived damaged. That record is not luck. It is the result of these seven layers, applied without exception, every time.
What We Ship
Each material demands a different approach. We know the vulnerabilities of each โ and we protect against them specifically.
Rajasthan
"The same marble used in the Taj Mahal. Porous, sacred, and sensitive to humidity shifts."
How We Protect It
Acid-free tissue + CNC foam cradle + moisture barrier. Never direct contact with tape or foam.
South India & Gujarat
"Expands and contracts with moisture. Our moisture barriers prevent the warping that ruins most wood shipments."
How We Protect It
Cloth wrap + humidity-sealed barrier + rigid inner crate to prevent warping.
Various
"Lighter than marble but equally sensitive at edges and joints. Corner protection is critical."
How We Protect It
Soft cloth + foam cradle + padded outer supports. Vulnerable to corner chipping.
Moradabad & Rajasthan
"Brass tarnishes from salt air and sweat. We seal every piece individually before ocean transit."
How We Protect It
Soft cloth + tissue between surfaces + foam separation to prevent scratching.
Rajasthan & Madhya Pradesh
"Dense and brittle. The cradle takes weight off carved features; the crate distributes load away from the piece."
How We Protect It
CNC foam cradle (essential) + rigid inner crate. Weight distribution is managed carefully.
Agra & Jaipur
"Pietra dura and mirror-inlaid work requires individual protection of each inlaid fragment. Most delicate category we handle."
How We Protect It
Acid-free tissue on each inlaid surface + foam grid separator + rigid inner crate.

"We were terrified to ship our family mandir โ it had been in the house in Jaipur for three generations. From the first WhatsApp message, the Dakshin team treated it like it was their own. Photos at every stage. Delivered without a scratch."
